For example, I know you wouldn’t go to a urologist or an ENT
but what type of Dr would treat arm, shoulder and hand pain?
My duaghter has a pain, a sharp pain, in her shoulder and the inside of her elbow. It hurts worse when she puts the heat or ice on it. The pressure is what hurts. She is 24.

I would see an orthopedist. Many people think they are the "bone" doctor. But really they specialize in musculoskeletal problems.
family doc will work but if you want a specialist you can see a pain specialist or sports medicine doctor
An arm, shoulder, and hand doctor?
I had all the symptoms and saw a chiropractor. My primary dr. suggested I see a shoulder dr. and before the day I saw the shoulder dr. my chiropractor suspected I had a disc injury in my neck. Now I didn’t actually have neck pain but he couldn’t have been anymore right about my disc injury. I also saw a pain mgt. Dr. after my MRI results came back. It showed a herniated disc however by the time I had surgery, the spine dr. realized it was much worse than he expected. Seven months after my surgery, I found out from the O.R. report that I had a ruptured disc-disc material was leaking in the spinal canal. Maybe getting into see a chiropractor would be an easy step before seeing a dr. especially since she’s not sure. Sometimes pain from a disc injury or spine (I wasn’t in a car accident) can cause pain to go out to the extremities. If it’s a lower back injury, the pain could be in the legs. If you don’t want to go the Chiropractic route, than I suggest a general orthopedic dr. However he will want some sort of films on the first visit if you have any. If not he can always order them. Muscle spasms can also be associated with a disc injury. Feel her shoulder muscles and see if there is a difference on either side (are the muscles on one side harder or softer)? If the right side has harder muscles than she may be having muscle spasms from an injury that needs to be diagnosed. Good luck.
