Shoulder Pain Symptoms, Causes & Treatments
i once had a "rib strain" which was a pulled muscle in my back that attached to my ribs, and i felt the pain where you describe. i got it when i had pneumonia and bronchitis from coughing reeeally hard. i was sick for 4 months so every time i coughed it aggravated it, and eventually it got really bad so i had to go to the emergency room cuz i couldn’t breathe (b/c it hurt too bad pulling on the muscle). i also couldn’t lay in any position comfortably, it hurt to drive (steering), lift things, sit, basically everything killed. it took a few visits to the dr. before they really heeded that it was seriously painful, and i got muscle relaxers and pain releivers that really didn’t help (i think they thought i was making it up to get drugs but definitely not). but it really didn’t go away til my pneumonia & bronchitis healed and i stopped coughing. so if you have a pulled muscle, it’s VERY important to rest…you definitely don’t want to aggravate it and let it get as bad as mine did!
i’ve also heard of this happening in tennis, and it can happen all kinds of ways really. have you done any heavy lifting or straining/anything that could’ve pulled a muscle?
