What causes pain between the shoulder blades?

I get this every so often. Its a nagging ache in my upper back between my shoulder blades. It doesn’t feel like a pulled muscle. I went to a dr. for this almost a year ago. I was scared I was having a heart attack, but they did an ekg, and it wasn’t that at all. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

you need a day at the spa, massage i bet would really help! and jacuzi bubbles to relax them
If you have other symptoms you need to keep bothering your doctor or go to another, belive me it is not a fun process it has taken me 5 years to find out that I have MS and pagets disease because I never complained enough. Now I am also having this syptom but my spine and neck hurt. I am finaly going to a Mayo Clinic in April that took them 7 month to get me into.
You don’t say how old you are…but
Do you get the pain after you eat something…is it worse after you eat fatty foods. Your gallbladder can cause pain between your shoulder blades…so if you are sure its not muscular you could get this checked out.
