I was diagnosed with tendonitis with impingement in both of my shoulders. So far I’ve had 2 rounds of physical therapy, 3 cortisone shots, and 1 round of oral steriods. I’m still in extreme pain. What else can be done? My neck and upperback are starting to hurt as well. I’ve been taking naproxen not helping. All started about two months ago, continuing to get worse.

Did you go to an Orthopedic Doctor today? What did he/she suggest. Again, I’m very concerned about you. You can e-mail me anytime. I go to a Pain Management Clinic, and their focus is on PAIN and PAIN only! It is their goal to alleviate the symptoms, pinpoint the problem, and get to the core of the pain issue.

Two years ago I had my right shoulder operated on and had no problem since then. On October 9th I am having my left shoulder done.
I did the shots and the physical therapy for a while with the right arm and it helps for a little while. I suffered with this problem for a year until I couldn’t function anymore. At cook outs I sat on the side lines because I could participate in the games or swim.
This time will not loose a year of my life trying to avoid the surgery.
You should really look at how this is effecting your life. only you can make that choice.
I am sorry to say the only thing that helped me was the operation. My recovery was very quick and there were no complications.
Further more that doctor is concerned for a frozen shoulder so my surgery has been move to as soon as I can get in.
Good luck. Let me know if you want to compare notes.
