Vagina Discomfort (itching and burning of vulva) + shoulder pain = a serious problem?
I have vagina discomfort as explained in title/question and the nurse at my Gyn.’s office advised me to get Monistat 7, after explaining to her that it could possibly be a yeast infection… she advised, like I said, to get the Monistat 7-day treatment… before use I wanted to read the box, the directions, etc… the box reads under warnings that you should ask your doctor for use if this is your first time experiencing such discomforts .. further down it said to also ask your doctor for using this product if you have SHOULDER/BACK PAIN, that it could be a SERIOUS PROBLEM… so what’s the problem??
I definately have shoulder pain and I’ll admit that I woke up with it around the same time (yesterday morning, which was day three of vaginal discomf.) I experienced the vaginal discomfort… I can’t find the problem anywhere on the net .. and I already bought this stuff (opened the box, but not the "equipment"), and it’s what the nurse advised (I dislike her right now..)
Please help

Burning and itching can be signs of a yeast infection but there is also a cottage cheese like discharge that smells bad. If you also have the discharge then you should go ahead and use the monostat because It is harmless and can relieve your discomfort. However, if your problem persists then you should see your Doc. Even if it clears you should still see your Doc so you can learn how to minimize reoccurrence.
i tink it’s much better to chk wif the doc rather den ask the nurse… aft all, she is not fully qualified as a doc???
I believe they say not to use for shoulder pain and back pain because you might have joint or muscle problems. I believe it is for sever causes though, but could be wrong. Shoulder/back pain can be symptoms of other problems your body are having and it won’t be a good idea to mix that medicine with whatever your body may already be trying to fight off. I would go seek another opinion. It sounds like a yeast infection and a doctor can prescribe you something for it that will take care of your problem with no worries.
Good Luck!
First of all a yeast infection HAS to be diagnosed by a dr. or nurse practioner.before it should be treated/ Don’t use any medicine until you see an OBGYN Dr. !! No one can legally or ethically diagnose your shoulder/neck pain except your Dr. Sorry/ Hope you get back to your Dr. now and get better.
