Traumatic compression fractures to my thoracic spine, can this cause degenerated discs?

My insurance company has just informed me that I have been being treated for degenerative discs. I have not stopped treatment for chronic pain since an auto accident 3 years ago where I sustained several compression fractures. The pain has not gone away and I am having problems with my hip and shoulder too. Seems movement with accident induced kyphosis is making my body worse. What do you think?

This makes no sense whatsoever to me. You’re being treated for degenerated discs without your knowledge but your insurance company knows? This is basically gibberish. Talk to your doctor.
Also, based on my experience with a thoracic fracture, I recommend a back brace and physiotherapy. Talk to your doctor about these options. You may have to push for a brace, doctors can be reluctant to prescribe them, if they even realise they’re options. I had to ask my doctor very specifically for a prescription for a brace (she didn’t even know that they could help), and then my orthotist set me up with something to reduce the pain by loads (I needed the prescription for insurance reasons)
