Sore shoulder / arm feels like ciatic pain?
I play baseball and one day I threw the ball and I got this sharp pain from my shoulder all the way down my arm. I have had shoulder / arm / elbow pain from baseball before but nothing like this.
The only way I can describe the pain is equal to ciatic pain I got occasionally.
When I swing the bat it is fine. Raising my arm above my head triggers it.
Is this a pinched nerve in the neck? and how do I get rid of this pain so I can play?
I don’t think it is router cuff. I mean I believe I have router cuff issues but I can deal with that pain. This pain that I get is shooting and goes through my whole arm.
Thanks for the input. I did some research and it is an rotator cuff impingement.
Explains the pain echoing thoughout the arm.
I found I can throw sidearm and it doesn’t bother it at all. So I will be doing that till it starts to feel a bit better. "Rest" is never an option.

The best thing you can do is get some physiotherapy and take an anti-inflammatoy drug. A doctor will give you a cortizone shot as a last resort and for some it doesn’t work. Talk with your doctor.
Cheers~!
my father had the same problem….you more than likely have something wrong with your router cuff
Sounds like a rotator cuff problem to me. Rest it and ice. Don’t raise your arm above your head. If it doesn’t resolve, go to the doctor for an anti-inflammatory and an ultrasound to diagnose to make sure there is no tear. I have the problem and get cortisone shots.
