Shoulder Pain?
About two weeks ago I woke up with intense pain in my left shoulder area just behind my deltoid. It feels like a sprain, but I don’t recall ever injuring my arm. I took some ibuprofen and put ice on it and the pain slowly went away. Last week my arm felt better (a little sore) so I decided to lift weights. The next morning I woke up with the same intense pain in the same shoulder. Now the pain won’t go away even with the same treatment. I’m scared that I might have torn something and might need surgery. I just went to the doctor for back pain and I don’t know if I should go back or see if my body heals itself. What’s wrong with me anybody ever experience this?

Do you have a friendly chiropractor? You might want to talk to him/her first. It’s amazing how many times my chiropractor has saved my precious butt (and shoulder and neck and legs, etc.).
When you wake up with a really nasty pain like that without there being a fall off a tall building, I’d say you have something a chiropractor should be able to snap out straight. It’s the best money you can spend on something like this.
This is most likely NOT something that will need any kind of surgery. Even if it is a minor rotator cuff tear, which is a worst case scenario, it can be corrected just with the right kind of rehab exercises. The best thing you can do is pay a visit to a chiropractor who specializes in sports injuries. The next best thing is to visit a physical therapist who specializes in sports injuries. Stay away from the medical doctors because they WILL tell you that you need surgery when you probably don’t.
