MATT A. (or anyone else). Chest congestion and back shoulder blade pain?
45 year old male. 4 months I have had congestion in my right lung(quit smoking in June), & pain in my back shoulder blade area. Ive had problems with my back for yrs, so Im not sure if the problems are related, but I have also had some convulsions in my right arm(shoulder to hand) which shakes uncontrollably, lasting apx 2 minutes. This has happened about 8-9 times in the past 3 months, and ends with a slight tingling in my hand, weakness, lack of balance and no coordination on my right side for a while. The daily pain, and feeling of no control on my right side are not always as bad on some days as they are on others, so i tend to believe they may be nerve or disc related. Back to my lung problem. I cant lay on my right side cause congestion makes it hard to breath. I use a inhaler(empinephrine) to loosen it for me throughout the day and after getting up. I then cough up phlem, which is always clear. No blood in urine/stools. I’m severely medically phobic &afraid to go in. Any Advice?

It sounds like you have a few different problems going on all at once.
It sounds like the hand/arm shaking, weakness , coordination problems and not feeling control of your right side are all signs of some sort of neurological problem. I wouldn’t ignore it and just think that it is part of your back disc problem. Back problems (including herniated discs) would not cause the problems that you describe.
Shoulder blade pain can be anything from tendintitis of the shoulder to something more serious such as cardiac.
Your lung problems sounds like the least of your problems.
If you do indeed have all of these symptoms, you need to get to a physician to make the proper diagnosis and prescribe the proper treatment. Your conditions are not going to improve by having it posted on this site.
If your phobia is causing you not to seek out the advise of a qualified professional, you are hurting yourself.
Why would you allow these symptoms to go on without medical intervention?
Another professional to seek the advise of would be a psychiatrist, it sounds like you have some psychiatric issues that need to be addressed as well.
Just go see a doctor. Don’t be afraid it might be serious.
I’m sorry but I don’t care how medically phobic I was, I’d rather see a doctor than to wind up in the morgue. Chest congestion and shoulder blade pain could be heart related and I’d get that checked out right away. As for your back problems, if you’re medically phobic about seeing a regular doctor, then at least try to see someone about your back issues. One way or the other there is something going on in your body and it is not getting any better. With all the symptoms you have had and for as long as you have had them, I can’t imagine not wanting to find out what was wrong and get medical help so you can live a better, pain free life. I’d rather know what was wrong with me than to go on wondering. No one on here is going to be able to help you. Everyone is going to tell you the same thing…SEE A DOCTOR!
this works for all my family, and we got a BIG family. drink it like tea, but it’s bitter so add honey : )
The congestion may/may not be from you smoking, and the pain in your back should blade seems to be connected. If you’re experiencing pain on a daily basis, this is not good. It also is not good to not know if there is some process going on which may be corrected or at least diagnosed. For example, I took a breathing test (PFT) which uncovered that I have some scar tissue on my airways which means the scar tissue will limit my ability to fully breathe. They also said it was because I went a long time without medication. If I had medication 20 yrs ago, I would probably have the full use of my airways.
If it was my body, I would like to know what’s wrong and if there was a way to help clear the condition up, I would do it.
Looks like side effects of smoking and withdrawal symptoms after stopping smoking. You need detoxifying the body. Best thing would be consult a homoeopath who will treat you constitutionally. It may take more than six months. But, have patience and you will come out of it.
