Go and see a chiropractor. They will be able to establish if there is an underlying problem and how to treat it.

Anyone can get stiffness around this area so your age isnt a factor.
You may have pulled a muscle eg playing sports etc If so then the stiffness will ease as it heals which can take a few weeks.
Another thing could be that you are sleeping in an awkward position, try and add a pillow or take one away and see if the pain eases next day (you may also notice your stiffness improving over the day if sleeping funny is the cause, as thepain will be worse when you wake up.)
Massages and warm baths can help relax muscles and improve stiffness.
Also taking an anti inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen for the pain may help.
If the pain dosnt go away then it may be an idea to see a GP or Physiotherapist for further help!

For now, try the hot bath, a nice soak realy should help! x

When muscles get tight or pinched they usually do need to be released in order for them to get better and that is what you have in your back and neck. Here is how to release those muscles:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but remain there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
Neck Release:
Place your hands behind your head touching your fingers. Press into the back of your neck with them and hold the pressure on them. After 30 seconds slowly lower your head until your neck is fully extended. Release the pressure but hold your head there for another 30 seconds.

I believe it's nothing to do with your age, it could be that you're spending too much time at your computer! It's very common at your age and one way of stopping the pain getting worse is to get your chair and keyboard height correctly adjusted. See your doctor or ask an adult, it's extremely difficult to solve the problem via my keyboard! Don't worry, you're not going to get worse, just better!
Good luck and stick with what people advise you and you won't go wrong. You could go down the expensive route via a cranial osteopath or chiropractor but they won't offer any more than you could afford. You could, of course be very rich and have your own osteopath, so if you are, ask them!

Good advice is to consult your doctor, if you are worried it is better to get it checked out, I do not think it is any thing to worry about, it is just the body letting you know it is changing, you could experience all sorts of aches and pains while you are going through puberty.

It doesn't seem normal to me. Do you carry a heavy backpack around all day? If so, perhaps you should use a locker to store some of the books when not required. If it's bothering you, tell your parents and ask them to take you to the doctor to have it checked.

Do you over use your arms and shoulders， such as sit in front of a computer all the time? Do you exercise? If you ruled out all the common causes and don't see an answer, then you should check with your doctor.

Hello there! Your backpack is most likely too heavy. This is very common in people your age. You need to lighten the load a bit or get one that is on rollers. My husband is a Chiropractor and sees this all of the time. Those muscles can only hold so much before they go into spasm from being overworked. When this happens, nerves get pinched. It is very painful. My advice would be to first talk to your mom or dad. Let them know what is going on. They can get you to a doctor to help alleviate some of your discomfort. The second thing would be to either get a new backpack that does not go around your shoulders and neck or one that you can roll, or take some of that weight out of there. I hope that this has helped. Feel better soon.
