Has anyone used Castor oil to relieve the pain? Any other suggestions welcomed.
Castor Oil rubbed in is a new idea that works for many with pains and bruises. Look up on the web. Trouble it is so greasy and stains sheets and clothes.

My spouse goes to the vet and uses a linament used to treat soreness in horses. It is completely safe for humans. Offhand I do not remember the name.
***** The name of the product is Trainers Choice and my wife says it works great.
Maybe it’s time to see an ortho doctor, which most likely will take about a month to get an appointment.
The meantime, you can always take the Glucosamine and Chondroitin, from what I heard recently, this helps, but both must be taken for it to be beneficial. A bottle costs about $20 for a month supply.
The question is whether it’s muscular or arthritis/rheumatism.
Be careful with taking motrin or aspirn or tylenol, as this may help the pain, but not the problem, and you could be making things worse by doing whatever caused the pain in the first place.
Pain is a symptom and not a disease! Therefore you need to locate a reason for the pain: muscle problem, joint problem, nerve problem. See a Doc, best of luck
PS Castor Oil used to be given for people who were constipated? I think you mean cod liver oil, or Omega 3.
Do you have actual shoulder joint pain, or upper back pain/ pain in the shoulder blade area?
If it was shoulder joint pain, then consider going to an orthopedist. If it’s upper back pain, keep with the chiropractor another 4-5x to see if it helps. It may take a while depending on the problem.
