I have had chronic shoulder pain for about a year now. I think it may be bursitis. What can I do for the pain?

Or should I just see a specialist. It is driving me nuts and the dull pain is getting old.

I want to stress that I am not a doctor! I am in nursing school though. If I was you I would try some NSAD type medication (Advil or Aleve). You can take four, yes four Advil at a time. That would be 800mg. You can take them every 5-6 hours. You need to take them with some food on your stomach. DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN TWO ALEVE AT A TIME; but you can take three doses a day. But, don’t take them when you take Advil. You can also take some Tylenol, in between those doses. About two hours after you take the Advil or Aleve. I wouldn’t maintain this medication regimen, for no longer then a month. Yes, I would get into see a doctor, when you have a chance. These meds. should help get you through, until u can get into see a doctor. You might also try some topical rubs. Like, Bengey cream or Icy Hot. HOPE THIS HELPS!
tylenol is always an option
Yeah, you could very well have bursitis, or frozen shoulder. For the pain, you can try certain exercises (Some listed in the link below). I used to have chronic shoulder pain too, until I followed some guides I found on the internet. Look around, but start here.
