I have a sever pain in my shoulder. What could it be?
I have been in moderate to severe pain for 4 1/2 years and I’ve been to doctors, physical therapy, orthopedic specialists, and I’ve had countless x-rays done, one MRI, and one MRI with a saline injection but the only thing that has shown up is inflamation. . They have rulled out a rotator cuff tear, fractures, and labrel tear. Can anyone tell me what else it could possibly be or what type of treatment may work so that I can discuss it with my doctor.
I have tried all kinds of over the counter meds like naproxen, asprin, ibuprofene, and aciphetomen (I know I spelled it wrong) I have also tried icy hot, biofreeze, and some prescription meds like vicoten, percocet, oxycoden, and valum and none of them worked. They did electotherapy and sonogram treatment too.I did try applying ice and massage therapy and those are the only things that sort of helped. The ice helped the most with the inflamation and the massage therapy helped with the range of motion and slightly with the pain but it’s still very painful.

Well it sounds like you’ve covered a lot of options. My husband had shoulder pain and it turned out to be be repetitive wearing of the bone at the joint, signs of arthritis, they said he could have a certain amount of injections to improve it.
I would try, a sports injury specialist, and a really good masseur. Some kind of hydrotherapy where your weight is supported.
The question is why is it inflamed? and could you try an ice pack treatment and an anti inflammatory pain killer.
Also take codliver oils, drink plenty of water and eats raw nuts and seeds, for your joints and make sure you’re getting enough (not too much) calcium.
Best of luck, this must be frustrating.
arthritis thats what it could be you could take painkillers and antiinflamatry tabs
i dont know but i would like to find out because i suffer from the same damn thing it hurt when i work out so please find out what it could be anyone
Sounds like a bad case of arthritis or bursitis. You can ask the doctor if taking an inflammatory NSAID like Voltaren might help.
Have you tried taking any over the counter meds like Aleve or Nuprin? They are both mild pain relievers and anti-inflammatory meds. Even Aspirin might help.
Sounds like muscle damage to me.
I would guess bursitis, since the other tests have ruled out other diagnosis. The bursa sack may have lost it’s synovial fluid resulting in bone rubbing bone and causing the irritation. Take a minute and think what you might be doing in a repetitive pattern: are you playing tennis? do you work in a factory? are you lifting weights? Or it may be the way you are sleeping and the type of pillow you sleep with. You can find relief by using a second pillow to elevate your arm and elbow and keep the strain off of your shoulder during the night. Your posture sleeping should be the same as when you stand up straight. No propping up your head to where your chin hits your chest. This can irritate nerves in your neck and cause shoulder pain. I would say that taking OTC anti-inflammatories (aspirin, ibuprofen) with food, heat (pad or shower) and not using the limb (perhaps putting your arm in a sling) so it can heal might give you relief. You might also request a cortisone injection from your doctor. However, too many of these can damage your joints also. But at some point, there is just so much pain you can take. If these things fail, a chiropractor might be able to realign your spine and give you relief. I hope you find the answer and Godloveya!
