I am having severe left shoulder blade pain.?
I am 7 mo. pregnant and have been having severe constant deep left shoulder blade pain. I know your back and stuff gets sore from the weight gain but this is so deep and not like muscle pain at all. It doesn’t matter how I sit or lay and nothing like tylenol helps, and it doesn’t hurt to touch, it is just this very deep pain on the left side of thoracic area between shoulder blade and spine. I went to my regular MD and they said it was probably pleurisy and gave me a Zpack but still no relief. Tried heat, ice, massage, but really starting to effect me and trying to work and getting a little worried it might be something more. Any suggestions?
I am 28 and its been ongoing for about 2 weeks now. Also it doesn’t hurt any worse or help any to move my arm or stretch, it’s the strangest pain.

You don’t say how old you are nor do you say how long this has persisted. Since you went to a MD regarding it, I gather it has been an on-going problem for several days at least.
Have you by chance had a fan on that could have gotten the muscle "cold"? MOIST heat might be the answer — as you would get with a moist heating pad. If you don’t have a moist heating pad, you can use a bath towel. Just fill the sink with water as hot as you can stand, get the towel wet and wring out all excess water. Change the towel when it starts to cool. I would not recommend a ‘hot’ shower or bath because of the baby.
If that doesn’t ease it down considerably, you should consider returning to the doctor. When you have unexplainable pain it is best to find the cause.
Good luck with the forth-coming little one!
