I am having pain behind my left shoulder blade. It feels like it itches then a burning feeling. Really hurts when I lay on my back. Also under my left breast is a dry patch of skin. The only place on my body that has dry skin. Any ideas what is wrong?

1.The itching and dry skin are both symptoms of a constricted artery.
2.The burning sensation and the pain when you lie down are symptoms of a squashed nerve.
All 4 of your symptoms; pain, itching, burning and dry skin all have the same cause; “a seized muscle”. And judging by your description, the muscle in question is the “serratus anterior”. This muscle connects to our ribs at the front, under the breast and it wraps around our body and connects to the ribs at our back under the shoulder blade.
Our blood vessels, arteries and the veins, plus our nerves all exist within our muscles. They are all supposed to be “embedded safely inside” our muscle’s springy fibres.
When a muscle is damaged then for self-protection, it “contracts and tightens”, it “seizes”. When a “muscle seizes” then in effect, it “solidifies” and our arteries and nerves become squashed within, while our veins are pushed out to the surface causing “varicose veins”.
The following link is a diagram.

1.Our arteries become “squashed within the muscle” and the pressure constricts our flow of blood.
The Itching.
When an artery is being squashed and blood flow reduced, we experience “numbness” as the area lacking in blood, “goes to sleep”. When the blood comes flooding back then we get the “tingling” of “pins and needles” as the area refills with blood.
We experience an “intense itching” if our blood supply has been blocked for a prolonged period of time and then it releases. This sensation comes as tiny, “empty”, blood capillaries refill with blood and although irritating, it is in fact a good sign of returning blood but it is also evidence of a constricted artery.
The Dry Skin.
The fact that you have dry skin in just one location means that the blood supply to that area is being restricted. Again, a constricted artery.
Our skin is totally renewed within a 3-5 week time period. With fresh blood, new cells grow underneath and the old skin cells are pushed up, out and off. Your skin is not being fed which means new cell growth is slowed which means that your existing skin has to remain longer than normal and so it dries out.
2.Our nerves become “squashed within the muscle” and the pressure causes at first, a burning sensation then an ache and finally, pain.
The Burning
When seized muscles “squeeze” our nerves, then it burns or we ache.
The Pain
When seized muscles “squash” our nerves, then we feel pain.
When you lie down the nerve becomes squashed within and you have the pain.
This problem can be easily fixed but first, you need to know that “Exercise is BAD for seized muscles”, so don’t do any.
