I am about 4 1/2 weeks pregnant and getting pain behind my left shoulder?
Sometimes it doesn’t hurt at all then other times (like when I make the climb up my 3 flights of stairs or lay on my left side) It hurts pretty bad. The pain is behind my left shoulder near my neck… I called my OBGYN this morning. They didn’t call me back until the office closed and I missed the phone call. All They said in the message tho was that if it persists to go to a walk-in or call them back in the am… I have rea olnline about Ectopic pregnancies and I know that shoulder pain is a symptom of a rupture.. Should I be worried even if they seem so calm about it? This is my first baby and just praying everything is ok. Thanks
It goes away for a while then comes back?? I get very mild stomach cramps, but those are usually associated with gas (sorry).

I am 38 1/2 weeks now I have had serious shoulder pain to my spine up my neck through my whole pregnancy, my arm will throb and I have lost strength in my hand. The docs did not have an answer for me. My baby is still doing well. I had thought at 12 weeks I lost my baby and went to the ER since I had a very large blood clot come out. Baby was checked on Ultrasound and was doing flips with a strong heartbeat. Again they had no answer as to why this was happening. I would say not to stress it, unless it become unbearable and just go see your doc when you can. It may be that you might have to deal with it through the whole process like I had to. Good luck to you I hope the best.
There would be a lot of blood coming out by know if you have ruptured anything. I would call tomorrow.
Yes I heard that was a symptom of ectopic pregnancy too. Call your doctor again. Even go to the urgent care of you can.
Okay,
Here is your answer. Go into the Walk-in, emergency room. They will be able to tell you what is going on. You are safe, and you ARE NOT DYING. However, it could be sign that something is wrong. You could have a fetus in the womb, and one in the tube. In either case, pain on your LEFT side is not good, pregnant or not pregnant. So, grab your ID, and insurance card, if you have kids-get them to someone that can look after them, and if you have pets do the same.
JUST GO, at least it will put your mind at ease.
Take care of yourself, I had a friend that waited to go in for pain, and if he did, he would be here now. YOU ARE NOT DYING!! However, you need to get this checked out so go NOW!!
God is with you, no matter what.
Take care
