How to sleep properly on side, and where to keep hands, to keep away shoulder pain?

At night I sleep on sides, keep my hand under my head, and it causes shoulder pain, and I had very tough time now, pain is not going away, so how can I recover from pain, what are the different good sleeping position, to avoid any kind of shoulder and back pain?
Please help me out, Thanks in advance.

Consider getting or making a neck support pillow. Sleep on a firm surface. When sleeping on your side, make sure that your nose is in line with the center of your body. You might also try folding a pillow case lengthwise into a four inch wide pad and wrapping it around your neck (you can pin it to keep it in place) while sleeping.
