Probably the best answer would be to find out what is causing the problem. Then get it taken care of. In the meantime, you may want to try this; Stand to the side (of the offending shoulder) and place her hand on your shoulder….. then try to rotate her shoulder in circular motions…. reversing the direction occasionally. If at all possible, try inserting your fingers under the scapula and work on the sub-scapular muscles to loosen them also. This exercise will at least loosen up some of the tightened muscles of the area. Stretching being the key word .
visit a doctor
Muscle Rub
get a massage
My dad had there, something 2 do with some discs. Go see a Dr. i recommend it, it only gets worse.
Is she under stress right now? Sometimes the muscles knot up
when you are stressed. If she can have her clasp her hands
behind her back and gently stretch her shoulders back a little.
Its what I do and it helps some. Or maybe take some advil or
motrin.
acupuncture =) my dentist wife does it for people that have shoulder pain behind their neck and she said they never had pain after a few treatments. Your mom might have a herniated disk or a pinched nerve thats serious… you should also have her see a chiropractor they’re pretty good too.
