My recovery seems to be going nicely except for shoulder pain! Not sure why? It has something to do with the CO2 gas they pump into you. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this weird, and awful pain with the shoulder. If so, what did you to do ease the pain?

I had that procedure done about 3 years ago. The CO2 is exactly why your shoulders hurt. The are able to get most of it out, but the gas that still lingers behind in your body is rising and trying to escape through your shoulders. I just took painkillers and used a heat pad. It goes away in about 3 days or so.
you have answered your own question, it is the gas they pump into you. i myself had the same pain and my doctor then explained it to me. unfortunately their nothing you can do for the pain, but it will ease in a few days. good luck with the recovery. take care
You are correct it does have to do with the gas they pump into you, the gas travels through your body and creates air pockets and that puts pressure on that area causing pain. Unfortunately their isn’t much that can be done, the gas will go away on its own.

I had a laparscopic appendectomy (for appendicitis) and i had the same pain, it went away after a few days though and it doesnt sound as sevare as yours. It is becuase of the CO2 they put into you. I just used strong pain killers and morphine, but that was for the pain from the actual surgery but it helped the sholder tip tain aswell. They only gave me morphine within the first few hours after my surgery but it lasted in my system a while, but they wont give that to you so just take stong painkillers and it should get better and it should ease as time goes on and within about a week from the surgery it should be totally gone. Good luck
Yes this happened to me when I had my gallbladder taken out. They fill up your stomach cavity with gasses and if not all of the gasses are emptied then the gas can get trapped in your shoulder. I feel so bad for you. Mine hurt to even breathe. There is nothing they can do. Your body will absorb the gas but drinking things like carbonated beverages will make it worse.
same answer the gas has to move around as you move it will find a way out. I know how bad it can hurt
but eventually it goes away. Hang in there and if you can’t get any relief call the surgeon.
