A relative of mine has very painful frozen shoulder. Co-codomol has been prescribed but only takes the pain off for a couple of hours. At this point they can’t take any more meds so its only about 2 hours sleep per night.
I believe they are booked in for some form of operation on the shoulder but I wondered if there might be any very good pain relief worth investigating?

Tramadol is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. Tramadol HCL 50 mg also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer or joint pain. Your question needs to be asked of the patients Dr. why hasn’t the patient done this ??
Have they tried acupuncture? It’s very good for that sort of thing.
There is an arthroscopic procedure that can be done to remove the adhesions and scar tissue from the shoulder capsule.
there’s also shoulder manipulation.
Make sure your relative continues to use the shoulder, though. It might be painful, but as long as the shoulder can be stretched and moved, it won’t get any worse.
Frozen Shoulder is caused by immobility, so futher immobility of the joint will only exacerbat the problem. physical therapy can really help improve mobility of the joint, which will help to send the condition into the thawing and healing stage.
There’s also acupuncture and deep tissue massage that works on some people.
