I experienced a shoulder injury in October of 2005. I’ve been to different doctors and have had x-rays and mri’s taken but yet everyone seems to agree that there isnt a tear or break anywhere in my shoulder area. I keep experiencing sharp pains everytime i raise my hand up over my head or make a throwing motion. After too much use, the pain is really uncomfortable and sometimes it results in me not being able to move my arm for a day or two This is very frusterating since I am an athletic person that likes to lift weights and play sports which involve these specific motions. Icing and anti-inflammatory’s have not resulted in a solution either. Im curious if there is anyone out there that has had a similar injury and if so how did you get rid of it?

A docter suggested it might reduce the pain/inflamation that is being caused by ‘frozen shoulder’. Also that it might help prevent loss of sight or at least maintain it – talking now about a person who’s eyes has already been damaged by diabeties, he has about 30% eyesight left and has had laser treatment before.

My 13 yo daughter has been struggling with swimmer’s shoulder pain. She has gone to physical therapy. But it keeps coming back. Thinking of taking her to acupuncturist though. I wonder how other people with same type of issue are battling with it. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Is there a natural pain relief for dogs?
my dog recently sprained his shoulder and is limping.
we and the vet were reluctant to given pescription pain relief as the thoughts were all the pain would go and my dog could do more damage during the ‘pain free’ time on tablets
however, i would like to make him more comfortable so is there any natural remedy to try?
only looking to ease it not cure it as of course i realise it would have the same effect as normal pain killers
he is obviously being rested and spoiled rotten as he should be

I fell on an outstretched arm on Saturday and yesterday I could not lift my arm at all and so went to A&E to get it checked out. I had an xray and thankfully nothing is broken but you could clearly see the bruising on my muscle right where my shoulder joint is. It’s so very painful, I’m struggling to cope with it.

The doctor at the hospital advised just taking paracetamol and applying ice to relieve the pain, and then taking ibuprofen aswell after 48 hours. She also gave me a leaflet with exercises I need to do to get my arm moving again. But having looked online there seems to be conflicting treatments. Some advise using a sling and total rest for 2/3 weeks which is the opposite of what this doctor told me!

I don’t want to do myself any more damage. And the thought of doing these exercises turns my stomach! Can anybody in the know shed any light on this? Should I go and get a second opinion?

I’ve had a total of six shoulder surgeries,frozen shoulder, capsular release, capsulotomy, rotator cuff reapir etc! Been under treatment for a long time for the different scenarios! The arthritis i found out about after one of my surgeries! Dealing with pain on a daily basis! Feeling kind of frustrated! Dr. gave a cortisone shot into the joint yesterday and told me to call him in a month to let him know it worked or not! If it doesn’t work he’s going to refer me to another specialist so he can try something different!

while travelling in train in winter i developed pain in my left shoulder ,few prescriptions by dr and no relief now the pain has increased and now it is termed as cold shoulder what are the the remedies and exercises so to subsidises my pain and get permanent cure

I was diagnosed with Fibro by a Neuro surgeon and referred to a pain treatment center here in Kentucky. The doctor was very cold and unsympathetic and kept asking me about my casper report. I’m also on Xanax for anxiety and I only get it from my Family physician but he’s partnered with several other physicians so their names came up on the report looking as if I’m doctor hopping. He prescribed me Lortab 10s 2x daily and Tramadol 3x daily along with Zanaflex and Lyrica. None of this helps. I’ve been off work since October 1 and waiting short term disability from my insurane company.I stay in constant pain. I have shoulder, back, head and neck migraines at least 4 times per week.I’m exhausted and can’t do household chores which is hindering my marriage. My husband is very unsympathetic towards the severity of this disease.I need my doctor to prescribe me something that will work continually through the day, not for just 4 hours. Any suggestions? Oxycontin? Fentanyl patch??

after a car accident I had 4 herniated discs. I suffer severe headaches on the temperal lobes and at the occipital ridge. Neck has limited rom with pain/pinching after repeated movements. occassionally i experience pain/numbness/tingling/weakness in the left arm that radiates to the thumb and index finger. The area between the shoulder blades feels like buring pain and sometimes causes spasms of the Lats. I am exhausted can’t sleep in any position without taking prescription meds and the next day feel unclear, groggy, easily irritated. I can’t do what I have in the past and I can’t rely on others to do things for me, its frustrating.Have you hade similar problems? What do you do to treat this without medications?I’m tired of being in pain every hour of every day. I need some long term relief.please.

For a few weeks now I have been having this pain in the left shoulder plate area. It has now progressed to throbbing in my left arm.

No trauma happened, it just started hurting when I bent over to grab my purse one day.

Went to see doctor after 2 weeks, gave me NAPROXEN + said to take 2 Tylenols if needed.

Unfortunately, none of this has given me the slightest pain relief!

What can hurt so much and not respond to pain meds?
FYI : I am 27, general good health
