My insurance company has just informed me that I have been being treated for degenerative discs. I have not stopped treatment for chronic pain since an auto accident 3 years ago where I sustained several compression fractures. The pain has not gone away and I am having problems with my hip and shoulder too. Seems movement with accident induced kyphosis is making my body worse. What do you think?

Is there any alternative to long term use of painkillers for a 12 year old with a dislocated shoulder who is waiting for hospital treatment?

I got my appendix removed about 24 hours ago, after being diagnosed with the beginning stage of appendicitis. The doctor left the hospital much prior to my release, so I was unable to receive a lot of information from the ill informed nurse. Along with the abdominal pain that I expected to have, I was also bothered with an acute pain in my right shoulder since waking up the morning after the surgery. I am now having trouble sleeping because of this and the tylenol 3 that I have been prescribed has not helped much in that region. I also found a round sticker with a metal button in the middle on my shoulder upon my return home. When I took off the sticker, I was soon hit with an agonizing pain on my shoulder. Upon sticking it back on, the pain seized miraculously within a few minutes. Could this in any way be related to my surgery? If so, what are some treatment options?

What at home treatments would help relieve chronic pain? No dr’s or med at home treatments to gain strength but not have so much pain using my arm?

I feel in my back like pain and feel uncomfortable. Like i try to sit one way and it feels pain. It feels like I’m tired or something. Hard to explain the pain. When i lie down in my bed i feel relief. What is this? My chair is uncomfortable also. Might that have something to do with it. What else can it be?
Mature answers only & thanks!
Its in my neck and upper back. It feels dull not sharp pain. It just very uncomfortable to sit straight or move around. I feel tired in the neck and upper back.

My shoulder/neck muscles are so tense/hard, it causes severe headaches, pinched nerves and swelling/pain in my arms. The MRI shows nothing. Aside from every possible med I have used for pain/relaxer, I have used – ultra sound, chiropratics, massage, acupunture, physical therapy and warm water pool therapy.
Does anyone know of anyother treatments?

Hey everyone! So over the past few months, I have been having constant back pain, mostly in my right shoulder blade. I do have scoliosis, but because this pain is not along my spinal cord, my orthopaedist thought it best that I get some tests done. I had an x-ray to see if my curvature had grown (as of last year it was 10 degrees), and I also had a bone scan and MRI. My follow-up appointment for these tests is not until September, and I was just wondering if anybody had any idea of what my pain may be and what kind of treatment I may need. I should probably add that I am fourteen and still growing. 10 points for the best answer, and thank you in advance!

I just had a mole remove in the middle of my back and I have no idea how to get relief from the inch and a half suture, let alone getting to sleep. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The incision is in the middle of my back between my shoulders on my spine. I have to be careful how I lay, sit and move so that I don’t pull out the 12 stitches. The prescription pain killers don’t work.

I recently went to my doctor about pain in my throwing shoulder. I was surprised to hear his suggestion: a week or two to get back into it. I haven’t done any serious throwing for the past two weeks, so its kinda like it will be a 3-4 week treatment, but is that enough time to heal? The pain is hardly severe. In fact, I can rarely feel it unless I am actually throwing a baseball. If I continue to rest and ice along with some anti-inflammatory drugs, will I be good to go in about a week and a half? Like I said, I can’t feel it unless I’m throwing a baseball, so I’m afraid to test it out, and then find later that I started the whole thing over.
The schedule is just about to pick up, in fact, games almost everyday. I also play other positions, so pitching isn’t a huge concern, but throwing normally is the question. I just don’t want to rest all this time and then reaggravate it.
