broken rib giving me shoulder blade pain??

I just went to the doctor today and got xrays and he said my 4th rib from the top was broken on my right side and i failed to mention that it was giving me pain under my left shoulder blade I heard this might mean the rib is pushing on my lungs? do you know what it could be??

You need to tell your doctor everything when you consult him.
If it was affecting your lungs you would know by now as you would have severe pain and if it punctured your lung there would be bright red frothy blood showing with your saliva and your breathing rate would be increased noticeably. I suspect this is not the case though because your doctor should have picked that up during his examination and xrays.
It would have been seen in the x-ray. The pain you are feeling is most likely from the rib, the pain is radiating from the injury itself.
