One morning I woke up and i had severe chest pain and it radiated down my right arm and was also in my shoulder…i went and had my BP taken by an emt and they told me they didn’t think i was having heart problems because my BP was normal. The last year or so the front of my ribs on both sides have been tender to the touch and the pain is worsened by activity. I went to the doctor and they believed my T4 rib was locking up so I have been to the chiropractor 5 times and have been adjusted. The pain hurts almost constantly but worse with activity. My arm hurts like i have muscle fatigue and my shoulder shoulder hurts. i have some random chest pains during certain activity and pain increases when i take deep breaths. do you think this could be costochondritis/tietze syndrome?

The doc diagnosed me with tendonitis at the weekend. Does it just come from nowhere? I was laid on my side and balancing on my arm and felt something "go" in my upper arm. Since then my shoulder feels tender and inflamed and I have an agonising pain in my shoulder, pains down in my arm and tight muscles in my upper back. Is tendonitis so painful!? As I am pregnant my doc can’t send me for an x-ray but I am wondering if I may have a fracture or torn some ligaments. I can barely move my arm. I have been given some exercises to do [very difficult as I have such restricted movement] but can’t take any NSAIDs or strong pain killers cos of being pregnant. All advice much appreciated.

I was at a swim meet a few days ago and a couple hours after the meet I had a sharp shoulder pain when I rotate in and sometimes when I lift it. What do you think is wrong with my shoulder? I need to be swimming as soon as possible, would physical therapy be my best bet?

I honestly dont know what it is. randomly i got a dull pain on my left shoulder all the way down to kinda my elbow its achy and dull i have some muscle cream on it. i have been sick with some sort of cold (iven been coughing up phlegm and runny nose ) for a week or so and im 14 years old male with anxiety but ive been taking medication for it and its been much better. im just wondering what the dull pain is the muscle cream in sorta kinda helping

For the last three days I have had really bad pain from the tip of my right shoulder extending to my neck. Today, in addition to my right shoulder, my left shoulder is now hurting. Almost a burning sensation. I have also been vomiting for the past few days and am feeling very nauseous overall. To make matters worse, i also have bad diarrhea. Prior to the diarrhea i had not Had a bowel movement in 5 days. I have tried Pepto Bismol for my stomach and diarrhea. And also tried ibuprofen for my shoulder pain. Are these connected? What is wrong with me?

the pain started in neck in april 2009. But it keep on spreading to my whole body in the coming months to shoulder, wrists, knees, joints. every muscle of my body is paining and some bones of hands and legs. i’ve consulted doc. of homeopathy, allopathy, ayurveda,psyotherapy, orthopedic, but got nothing except dissappointment.

There is pain on top of my left shoulder–hurt when I touch it–so I’m thinking ‘pinched-nerve’, but when I inhale or exhale, I can feel a sharp, stabing pain in my left breast. Can pinched nerves do this? I also carry a heavy purse on my left shoulder–thus maybe the pinched nerve. I just had my physical so I’m fine. What can it be? Thanks

I have severe pain in my shoulder which was not caused by an injury. its very bad at night .its only bearable with ibuprofen every 4 hours.I want to know what treatment works.I want to avoid going to a doctor I am in the middle east on holiday for 5 weeks.Thank you..
i had it about 2 weeks ago ,i think from carrying heavy loads on left side .(it got better after a week and has started again since i picked up some very heavy shopping day before yesterday.)Its worse than it was before. I cannot raise my arm and the is very bad ..

i have this bad pain in my shoulder blade when i move it in any direction. ii can hear it grinding when i move it backwards. the pain shoots to the curve of my blade, and then it hurts like hell for a long time. it is limiting my mobility. any advise? please some good advice. i have no insurance to go to the doctor. oh and i haven’t had any injury to it either. it started a week ago and gradually got worse mostly when i wake up in the morning.

My mum who is 70 has been suffering with acute pain now for the last 7 weeks. One G.P. told her she had a trapped nerve in the neck but now another one has said she is suffering with osteo arthritis in her neck and it is crumbling. A lot of her pain comes from her shoulder but most of it runs down her left arm. Can anyone shed any light on who is right and what can she take for the pain? She is at her wits end and hardly getting any rest or sleep because of the pain.
